The Forest Heritage Center Museum will be hosting Camp Discover: Art of the Forest, a children’s day camp, July 6-8, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM for children ages 9-11. Camp Discover provides children with a fun-filled, education experience designed to familiarize the children with the many facets of forestry that is sure to be the highlight of their summer.
Science and art will combine during forest-themed arts and crafts, educational presentations, and an adventure hike on the educational Tree Trail. With this year’s “Wood, Water, and Worms” theme, campers will learn how vegetation, clean water, and animals work together to make a healthy ecosystem. The location of the Forest Heritage Center in beautiful Beaver’s Bend State Park is the perfect setting to learn about the forest, with over 50 species of trees within a 1 mile radius.
Registration is $20 and includes all art supplies/materials, daily snacks, lunch and a Camp Discover t-shirt. Applications will be accepted from March 30th through June 19.
This program is made possible in part by Oklahoma Forestry Services, the Oklahoma Arts Council and the Forest Heritage Center Advisory Board and staff.
